  • The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is one of the All India Services (AIS). The other two AIS are the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Indian Forest Service (IFS). The IAS is considered the premier civil service of India.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services examination to recruit IAS officers. The minimum age to take the exam is 21 and the maximum age is 32. The UPSC receives thousands of applications each year, but only 180 candidates make it to the final merit list.
