Is IBSAT, Pune campus good for doing MBA in finance? How is it in terms of placement?

Dear UDIT, IBS Pune is doing quite well in management studies, it has a long legacy and reputation, but it certainly isn't the best, there are a lot of better players, LPU is one of the top one. The MBA programme at LPU is a great mix of cutting edge curriculum, experiential learning pedagogy, industry interface, projects, internships and consultancies, technologies trainings and many more. The sheer size of campus and number of students provides a plethora of opportunities to students to explore their entrepreneurial skills. The multicultural intake ensures that students learn and understand cultural sensibilities which become an asset in corporate life. The most striking point however is the center for professional enhancement, the students are exposed to new ideas about personality development, professional etiquette, virtues, ethics, interpersonal and networking skills for almost full duration of the programme rather than just a few weeks of placement trainings. This inculcates these qualities in the students in much better way and go a long way into shaping the career apart from cracking the interviews. Coming to reputation, since you asked, NIRF a government agency has ranked Mittal School of business among top 50 B-schools in the country twice in a row, in some of the parameters it has even beaten most Iims and ranked no. 2 in the country ! More importantly, more than 200 companies visit the campus for recruitment of management grads only ! Which is a huge number and a big achievement. More than 97% of eligible graduates get their dream placements. It is not like any other university, you can SEE it from the first step of selection, even Iims have basic eligibility of 50% in graduation, while LPU has raised the bar to 55%. No wonder it has one of the largest intakes in the country which has over 97% placement record. Hi Udit, IBS Pune is a good college. Campus placement is provided by the college and the avg. salary IS 6.04 lacs and max. salary is 7.70 Lacs. Recruiting companies are: Naukri Com, 99acres.com, Nestle, CRISIL, TCS, Viacom 18, CITI Bank etc. All the best.

IBSAT, Pune is a very good college to go with, in fact I’ve also cleared its interview and got selected but later I got admission in Delhi, so IBSAT definitely will give you all specialisations and a satisfying package too.

The average placement package is around Rs. 6 lakhs for MBA finance in an average college.

The correspondence courses that you want to pursue would depend a lot on your career aspirations. Once you decide which area of finance you are keen on, you can pick up courses based on it. For example: if you are interested in equity market, then you could pursue BSE/NSE course. You could also pursue CFA and become a chartered member, financial modelling courses, etc.
