IEM is not a b-school first it is a engineering College which has opened one code as MBA UNDER WBUT university and is not recognised well in india so it is worthwhile persuing MBA from a non B-school .

According to the website of IEM Kolkata, offers AICTE approved MBA under West Bengal University of Technology(WBUT) so it is a point in its favor. Placement is average enough since last two years as asked. other than that it depends on the amount of fee you are investing to what rank of college. ove
