Is IGNOU MAJOR degree equivalent to (DU sol or any) HONOURS degree?

IGNOU is offering B.A. HONOURS courses but in their degree they use the word "MAJOR" instead of the word "HONOURS" so my questions are 1. Is IGNOU MAJOR degree is equivalent to an HONOURS degree? 2. Will that MAJOR degree be accepted in india as HONOURS degree?
