There are the opinions that IIFD Chandigarh is one of the most recognised fashion institutes in the sphere of fashion and design in India, which according to the ranking of Outlook 2022 is on the 24 th position among fashion institutes in India. While there is no Tier 1 or Tier 2 label it is apparent that it is tied for a top tier school as you can see from the industry connections and the already mentioned 97% placement rate. IIFD Chandigarh has 23 courses offered in 5 streams: (link unavailable), MBA, MFA and Diploma courses with fee structure, 1.4 Lacs to 1.75 Lakhs.

IIFD Chandigarh is usually a Tier 2 institution. In contrast, the Indian Institute of Fashion and Design also boasts some prestige through exclusive fashion and design programs. On the other hand, IIFD does not equal Tier 1 institutions. Nevertheless, it has been said to be one of the best fashion institutes in India, which, aside from quality education was awarded good placement record. Its focus on hands-on training and industry contacts better positions it in the arena of fashion education, thus making it a prominent institution for aspiring designers.

Honestly most students who joined IIFD Chandigarh don't regret it at all. They say the classes are super practical, the teachers are helpful, and they actually get to work on real fashion projects. Thoda sa dar lagta hai starting mein, but once you settle in, you start enjoying the process. It feels more like a creative journey than just studies.
