Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad, which was established in 1999, is a recognised university and is, in fact, a government college. IIIT Allahabad is recognised by the Government of India as an 'Institute of National Importance' and is recognised by the AICTE. In the 2023 NIRF Engineering Rankings, the institute came in at number 89th among the top Engineering colleges in India.
