Is IIIT, Allahabad still good enough to be preferred over NITs in 2019?

I want to know about the curriculum and placements in comparison to NITs and IITs.

Yes, IIT Allahabad is still having that much potential, you should give preference to it. Although it will require you to score a really good score to get admitted as compared to NIT's. Placements totally depends on your attitude and your knowledge in the domain. So, work on that and you need not to

I came to know that a new CCE-like academic system was introduced by the new director of IIIT Allahabad in 2018, which was criticised by some students of the college. Will the new system affect my coding skills or placement? Is it still a good choice to go for this college even after the new system

I would say yes. IIIT Allahabad is very good . It's progressing day by day. You need good score in JEE to get admitted in IIIT. If you are interested in CSE or IT fields. Then go for it. All the best
