Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal, popularly known as IIIT Bhopal, was established in 2017, to encourage students to pursue higher education, research, and training across various fields of Information Technology. As IIIT Bhopal is a fairly new institute among the 19 new IIITs established under the no-profit public-private partnership scheme set up by the Ministry of HRD, it is operating under the mentorship of the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT),  Bhopal.
