The 2024 placement drive is still in progress. As per the information available on the official website of the college as of March 28, 2024, 909 job offers had been provided by various companies. A total of 204 organisations visited the university, and 860 students were hired. The median and average packages offered by IIT Dhanbad placements in 2024 were INR 12.50 LPA and INR 16.45 LPA, respectively. IIT Dhanbad has recorded good placement numbers during the 2024 drive. As per the official website, 1,054 non-unique job offers were attracted from 254 companies that visited the campus. The total count of students placed stood at 993. Further, 184 PPOs were made and 11 international offers were attracted. The course-wise placement percentage has also been released. For BTech and MTech, the placement rate stood at 69.97% and 54.13%, respectively. In addition to this, 64.71% of MBA and 51.58% of MSc students were placed.
