Yes, IIT Madras is considered to be a good institute as it has been ranked 1 by the NIRF Rankings 2024 under the 'Overall' and 'Engineering' categories. Internationally, IIT Madras is ranked 227 in the QS World University Rankings 2025. Further, it is the third IIT to be set up by the Government of India and is autonomous in nature.
