Yes, there are many colleges and universities at premier level and other low-level colleges which are offering MBA program and are providing admissions to students at large level into their program. A survey shows that each year India produces 3 lakh MBA graduates, hence interesting fact is that only 10% of them are employed in the company. The fact is that growth in number of universities and colleges have made it more in number. Some colleges and universities are just providing degree without any class or anything. They just want money, but you can go for top B-Schools for MBA as they provide good employment opportunities with hefty...more

Yes, the answer is India is producing a large number of MBA graduates each and every year. The worst part is that the quality of education will decrease day by day because of increasing MBA campuses.
Nowadays, the MBA education is becoming an educational business and lots of corporate individuals are starting MBA campuses.
Another bad part is that, they consider students just as a customer and will earn money from them in the form of donations and fees. The quality of education decrease and students won't get enough opportunities after the completion of course. In one year, lakhs and lakhs of students are passing out as MBA graduates and...more -
With India's economy and GDP booming in a positive direction, it won't be that difficult to say, that we should produce more number of mangers as required. This is because market is volatile and hence we need to understand, that it will be a tough task for people to get jobs. But, better booming and providing better directions can be useful. At this time, all the sectors are required to understand, what it is, that can make themselves sustainable and more useful. This can be done, if we have better mangers and by better mangers we mean better MBA students who can tell the real time application and understand the real time simulation to...more

We need managers who genuinely understand markets, their relationship to the public sector, and the philosophical, cultural, and social meanings of business growing global influence. We need leaders who fully grasp that markets, while highly efficient, are not fair, kind, or wise. The current market price, while efficient, is not essentially just it can, in fact, be rather cruel. For example, when a large retail chain comes to a town, pushing small businesses to close. We need leaders who are ready to face the trials of growing income inequality, unemployment, environmental influence, and cultural homogenization that modern business pr...more

7 years agoI personally think we need many more.
India has some core economic issues:
1) High Unemployment: India's youth has massive unemployment rates, bordering at 30%, more jobs need to be created in companies.
2) Few companies: India has only 1.5 million registered companies v/s 18 million in the US and 76 million in China.
3) Shallow equity markets: India's equity markets are 1/4th of Japans and 1/15th of the US - a deep equity market helps growth.
There are a few solutions to these:
1) Expanding companies: B-School students have been found to be excellent at building companies.
2) Creating companies: Some of the world's largest companies have bee...more -

India isn't producing more MBAs than required but it is surely producing less quality MBAs than required. The number of MBAs being produced is okay. But the quality of these students is not so good. Indians have a bad habit of glorifying one course and rushing to do it. The same is with B.Tech. So the quality of MBAs is produced is low and no company wants such unemployable people. So many of them remain jobless and then blame that MBA is a waste of time. Many engineers do MBA just for the sake of it. They think it will make them more employable. The thing is that unless you genuinely interested in management you shouldn't go for MBA....more

Hi.
Definitely, there is a shortage of jobs in country wherein all from science as well as non-science professional are looking to do MBA as a quick step towards to get a job. There is really a shortage of job in engineering colleges all over the country. Except IITs and good ranked Engineering colleges in India, other colleges are struggling for their existence. Therefore, MBA comes as their last hope where they go for MBA and try to grab a job in Sales, HR, System, etc. specializations. Yes, India is producing more MBA than required and also, it is hampering the quality of MBA professional because less focus is given to an individual...more
