    Yes, it's not easy to get into IES. You need to have economics as your subject. It's one of the most high profile jobs in Indian Public Service Commission.

    IES is on same level as with IPS and IAS. It is a form of civil service dedicated to Economic studies. The payscale, allowances and perks would be identical.
