Is infrastructure really an important criteria for engineering colleges?

It is not true. Some private colleges are maintaining better infrastructure, facilities than government engineering colleges. All these colleges are having better placements than government colleges. For example, I recently visited the campus of Indo Global Group of Colleges in Chandigarh, whose infrastructure & facilities are amazing. Really very good infrastructure, industry & academic interface with IITs, top companies through which they are having best placements at very higher salary than government colleges. I personally met some students, all of them are placed in top MNCs.

Infrastructure forms an important asset and criteria for selection, although my opinion states it shouldn't be sole criteria for selection. What matters most should be the placements and brand recognition of these colleges. Infrastructure is really an important criteria for colleges, especially engineering colleges which are old and need renovations. They deal with many technical aspects and hence they need to learn practically and then do an analysis of what they infer, hence proper laboratory and library along with state if art classrooms and conferences room should be in place. In case of post-graduation like PhD, students opt for specializations and so they really need good lab facilities and resources with cutting edge Technology. For research-oriented studies, infrastructure plays really a pioneering role. In case of government-funded colleges, there will be no short of infrastructure. They become older as the days go by as they would have been built decades ago and hence despite of its legacy and brand recognition, safety standards have to be met and capital expenditure is must to upgrade to latest amenities for all round development of students.

Yes, it is one of the factors to think of while joining any college. Infrastructure generally consists of different types of facilities available in a college. This can be related to academics or can be non-related too. Some of the examples of academic related infrastructure is different types of labs. For example, in NIT Trichy, there are various labs for each department and these are used throughout the academic curriculum. Apart from labs for experiments, NIT Trichy has a computer center named Octagon which is open 24/7 all the year round. Other facilities can be like library. NIT Trichy has a VAST library with around 10 lakh books. So, whoever is interested in learning can avail these facilities. So, all the colleges must have basic labs and library to provide proper education to students. Apart from that colleges can have Gyms, Sports centers and other facilities for overall development of students. So, as you are going to spend 4 years in the college it must have good infrastructure.

Hello, From my point view, infrastructure is really an important criteria for colleges especially engineering colleges. They deal with many technical aspects and so they need to learn them practically and then do an analysis of what they study or have studied. In case of M.Tech, students opt for specializations and so they really need good lab facilities and resources. For research-oriented studies, infrastructure plays really a great role. In case of government-funded colleges, there will be no short of infrastructure. The only thing is that they become older as the days go by as they would have been built decades ago. They may need to replace them or improve their efficiency so that they could meet the requirements of the students. The placements at government colleges would not be affected by its infrastructure as they purely depend on the students knowledge. They could get affected if the colleges are of lower reputation, but most of the government engineering colleges are highly reputed such as IITs, NITs, Anna University, etc. In all, the placements wouldn't be affected by infrastructure while the students may get affected in shortage of infrastructure.

Hello, According to my opinion, infrastructure should be considered as one of the most important parameter while selecting an engineering college. No matter how much you have scored or where you are from, picking the best engineering college on the basis of required basic infrastructure from a plethora of options is indeed a task for anyone. Infrastructure is one of the most critical factors while choosing a college of your dreams. It does not imply that you should pick a good looking building which has a marvelous architecture but it should suffice the requirement and has a basic setup for engineering students. It should have a basic classroom, an administrative wing, workshop, computer labs and other laboratories, etc. Trust me, in the coming years, you are going to spend every waking hour in all these places, so choose wisely and make sure that your college has the best infrastructure to facilitate you during your entire course. The college should be equipped with the library, hostels, seminar halls, gym, cafeteria and a high bandwidth internet connection. Such facilities will prove to be a boon for your engineering studies. While Library and internet connection will be your go to guys to find the latest study materials and keep track of latest research facilities in your engineering domain; hotels, gym, cafeteria and other facilities will make your life easier while you are not busy peeping down a big reference book.

Hello students, Infrastructure is one of the important factors these days. Whether it is a government or private institute or highways and railways. What is infrastructure? It consists of many items that go a long way in making life comfortable. Some of these are in fact essential and some may take some time. For an example, an engineering college that has just opened its gates for admission. Obviously, it will have rudimentary facilities, but it will still have facilities like classrooms, library, labs, etc., that are mandatorily required, but these may not be world class. As the years go by, surely many more will be added. Labs will be expanded to have latest instruments, the library may have a student-friendly atmosphere with the facility to access all books, periodicals, etc. Subsequently, the college may have big halls and sports complex, meditation facilities, etc. There will indeed be infrastructure related to software. How talented is the faculty? How much experience do they have? Do they have the facility to opt for research? These and many more aspects come into play. Obviously, private establishments will try to impress with former like swanky campuses, etc., but Govt. establishments, invariably, go into a rut after initial years of bonhomie, but invariably, teachers are quite superior. These institutes have government backing too. Ultimately, it is not the buildings, but the faculty that matters most. This acts as bootstrap too. With good ones getting to attract better students and it continues. To conclude, I would like to say that it is not the infrastructure, but the faculty that should matter while seeking admission.

Yes, infrastructure is very important for any engineering college. One should choose Engineering college on the basis of infrastructure. Placement and other things should be given priority after infrastructure. However, this may not be totally correct because these days, many private engineering colleges have world-class infrastructure but when it comes to teaching and faculty members then they will disappoint you for sure. Many government engineering colleges have average infrastructure but the quality of faculty members are better. Hope it helped. Thanks.

Yes, definitely. Infrastructure plays a major role on the selection of the college and most of the accreditation board looks through the infrastructure and well-equipped classrooms.
