<p>As per a response on ask.shiksha.com dated March 5, 2024, the University of Madras' Institute of Distance Education (IDE) is categorized as a tier-2 institution.&nbsp;<br>Undergraduate and graduate degrees are among the many offerings of the IDE. BA, BCom, BSc, BCA, BBA, and Bachelor of Literature in Tamil (BLit) are examples of undergraduate programs. The following are postgraduate programs: M.A., M.Sc., MCA, MBA, and MCA (Lateral).&nbsp;<br>One of Tamil Nadu's oldest public state universities is the University of Madras. US News has been placed 1542 among the Best Global Universities. The University of Madras was placed 526 in the QS World University Rankings for 2024. The University of Madras was placed 50th under "University" and 65th under "Overall" by NIRF in 2023.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
