The way we classify educational institutes into Tier 1 or Tier 2 depends upon many criteria such as faculty qualification, academic reputation, and research output. INSD won the National award for best design school in 2017 and it is considered that INFD is one of the colleges from the top 10 colleges in India. From the above recognition, it is not possible to consider whether INFD is Tier 1 or Tier 2 because it depends upon subjective and may vary across different ranking organizations.

International School of Design (ISD) in Kandivali is generally considered a Tier 2 design school. Tier 1 schools are typically those with a long-standing reputation, extensive industry connections, and a high level of recognition, while Tier 2 schools, like ISD, still offer quality education and training but may not have the same level of prestige or resources as Tier 1 institutions.

That said, ISD provides various programs and opportunities for students, and many graduates have gone on to have successful careers in design. It's always a good idea to consider factors like faculty, curriculum, placements,
