Is is necessary to write IIT JEE in order to become an ethical hacker or a software engineer?
I want to be a software engineer, what should I do? I am a student of class 9th.

For ethical hacker, you need to take some other specialisation course. It will be a certification course. IIT JEE is required to pursue engineering in different fields.

IIT JEE is an exam, through which you can get admission in IIT.
