Is it a good choice to pursue B.Tech in CSE from LPU? How can I choose a good college for B.Tech in CSE?

Since the question is about Computer Sciences Engineering, I shall give some details specific to it. LPU has done some terrific work in following parameters on which one must evaluate the college/university: Course curriculum: It is any day the mainstay or back bone of any programme. The extensive research, industry consultations, feedback from existing employers of LPU students, foreign collaborators and distinguished faculty all over the world goes into developing the curriculum of LPU, and all this: Upgraded in very semester. This makes the LPU syllabi most advanced and industry oriented in all respects. Trainings : A large number of trainings in cutting edge technologies like SAP and other MOOCs are given as a part of programme to enable the students learn what others learn after the courses. For example the SAP modules which cost upwards of INR one lac are a part of curriculum free of cost. School of Professional Enhancement: This is one department which kicks in from the first semester for holistic development of the students to create ethical, virtuous, hardcore professionals out of the students within their student life. The skills inculcated into students here are soft skills, professional etiquette, personality development and various other professional values which help the students not only in placements but throughout their careers. Diversity: LPU attracts the students and faculty from all states of India and about 72 more countries. This huge diversity in peers and faculty helps the student learn about various cultures and one most important trait called TEAMWORK. Scholarships: The meritorious students who perform well in their 10 +2 board exams or in LPU NEST get lucrative scholarships upto 40% of the fee of course per semester. Dear Narain, LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department has been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. I am saying this because my younger brother has already completed B.Tech CSE from Lovely Professional University and currently he is working with amazon. His experience at LPU was amazing. He has discussed placements, exposure, academics etc. Honestly speaking, the quality of education provided at any of the universities in India has been standardized by the autonomous body called University Grants Commission (UGC). It is just a matter of public opinion that sometimes condemns a university while over-hyping another. Of course, few other factors, such as the university intake of good candidates and the output of taught, trained, and efficient candidates who get successful placements during the course of the past couple of years, matter, of course, but lets get to that a while later. In regards to the stream concentric study of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at Lovely Professional University, it is undoubtedly a very good idea. The faculty at the CSE department of LPU is just as qualified as any of the popular universities and institutes of India that offer this discipline names I don't even need to say! It has produced perfectly efficient computer engineers in the past couple of years who have eventually landed salary packages as high as 42 LPA! Over the past couple of years, the department has seen a rise in the number of students taking admission in the stream. Due to this, the competition between students within the department has increased, and this has indirectly improved the overall performances of the batch as a whole. Without mentioning unrealistic figures, I am going to say that the students graduating from the CSE branch at LPU get placed more often than any other department from the same university. Not everyone gets placements in a core company, but they will get placed in companies functioning in various other fields. Don't be disheartened. It is a great opportunity for the engineering graduates, as a job in any field (better, if related to technology) will in the long run help you grab work experience, which in turn will lead you to have your dream career with your dream package Any engineering stream will make you qualified enough for good Job. Dear Narain, Yes, LPU is a good choice to pursue B.Tech in CSE. Many of my friends did this programme from LPU only and they all are working in reputed MNCs. There are a few points I would like to share about why CSE is good for LPU. Good Placement: LPU has a good placement record for CSE students. Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. In which they are placed. The maximum package availed for CSE is 42 lacs. Per annum by Microsoft. LPU has a very good placement and achieved awards for employability also. The main thing for placement that I liked there is that LPU provides placement classes to the students from the first year, which helps students prepare for placement until their final year of the programme. Scholarships: LPU provides scholarships to bright students every year worth crore rupees to all the students based on their academics, extracurricular activities, and other factors. Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified from IITs, NITs, Iims, and top-ranked universities all over the world.
