It's true that nowadays a lot of engineers are jobless but most of them are mechanical and civil for which job are little low in India but i still say that engineering is a good choice if you select the right branch which suits your interests and in india CS and IT branches have growing scope due yo growing IT sector and i think it will be good even after 4 years.

B.Tech is a good course. You can surely pursue it if you interest in it. But, I would advice you to pursue it from some reputed university which has good campus placements such as IIT NIT, bits etc. Otherwise, due to a lot saturation in this field it will be difficult for you to find a good job.

Yes, definitely, it is a good choice to opt for B.Tech if you have passion and required technical skills and creativity for it. B.Tech study requires a good analytical, logical and creative thinking. If you have these qualities then surely you should go for it. Ample amounts of job opportunities are available in front of graduates in both government as well as private sector. In India, there are many private companies that recruit a large number of engineers every year. Jobs availability is not only in private sectors but public sector organizations also recruit engineers. Top recruiters:
    Accenture
    TCS
    Infosys
    Cognizant
    BHEL
    SAIL
    Tata Motors
    D
    ...more
