Is it a good choice to pursue MBA in operations after completing B.Tech in production engineering and industrial management?
I am confused because I think MBA Operations would mean a lot of switching of fields.

You can use MBA in operations management in following manners:
Job: Mechanical Engineer + MBA (ops), it's a combo most core companies looks for and if you are a male candidate. Brush up your mechanical concept, think about industry specific problem areas and which techniques and tools you studied are most relevant.
Research: There are thousands of operational problems in almost every Manufacturing Industries (I have experience in textiles, chemicals and pharmaceutical, I assume other manufacturing industries are may not much different.
