Hi Sonu, Petroleum engineering course do cover Chemistry and geology to extract oil and gas from under the earth's surface. LPU don't offer B.Tech. Petroleum Engineering course, instead offering B.Tech. Chemical Engineering course, which you can pursue for sure. Chemical engineering is a broader category than petroleum engineering. It covers the production and use of many types of chemicals. Chemical engineers use Chemistry to develop fuel, food, drugs and new substances. Both petroleum and chemical engineers are considered some of the most valuable degrees in India & abroad. A Chemical Engineer could work in Petroleum sector as well.

LPU is very good in terms of the placements, curriculum, and infrastructure. They have best-experienced faculty members and provide great exposure to the students to work in the industry as well by organizing workshops, industrial visits, internships etc. So, in my experience, you should definitely go for LPU without any second thought.

Being an Alumni I can say LPU has made a good name for itself in a short span of time by working hard for it students in terms of education, faculty, placements, infrastructure, etc. It works for the overall development of its students. Its main aim is to provide students with ample exposure both in the form of theoretical and practical knowledge for which there is much emphasis on workshops, live projects etc. Along with class room teaching. To impart quality education and training in petroleum engineering and associated fields to enable the students to imbibe technical and analytical skills through the culture of logical and critical thinking for students at LPU.
