    Yes, it is a good idea. You have two skills one is engineering and other one is marketing then. And opportunity of getting job and setup the business will became high.

    Yes, these two goes hand in hand. I myself is an engineer, and now I am pursuing MBA from Doon Business School, Dehradun. I like market research a lot. Software like SPSS must be learnt prior to get a good hold over Market research.

    Yes, market research is a good field. Corporate do need extensive information about competitors and current market conditions. Market research tools are easy to Master for engineers. It also uses extensive use of maths mainly statistics, probability distributions, and algebra. A good knowledge of Quants and a bit of basic programming skills will help you to excel in this field. So, in all its a good option to go for market research after B.Tech.
