Is it a good option to prepare for IAS after completing B.Tech?

9 years agoIt is certainly a good option to become IAS after BTech. You find plenty of such examples also these days. -

The options are unlimited, as you have done your class 12 with science. With the combination of biology, physics and chemistry you can take up medicine, dentistry, Pharmacy, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology, Microbiology). Apart from doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration, hotel management, tourism management etc. you can also opt for courses outside the university stream,...more -
Yes itvis a good option but then be very sure about going in the admintrative line of Govt sector. It is difficult to come in merit in UPSC exam in the first attempt itself. You miight have to make more number of attempts. Judge yourself correctly and if you do posses the required skills and the bent of mind towards intense studies then go for it.

Sure.
But first get into an IIT. Study and groom yourself because you have to decide the course of your life. Becoming and IAS office is not the end of the road.
