Is it a good option to pursue Diploma in automobile engineering followed by B.Tech in automobile engineering?

Yes, if you're sure that you want to become an engineer then go for the Diploma and as far as mechanical or automobile goes, you need a very good basic in the subjects like SOM, TOM, Design, Fluid Mechanics, etc. So Diploma will help you. I am studying BE in ME and have done Diploma in mechanical and as far as I have noticed many students in my class find it difficult to tackle these subjects because it's pretty difficult to cover these subjects in one semester.

It is a good choice to do pursue Diploma in mechanical or automobile engineering first because all your basic will be clear and after that do B.Tech in automobile engineering. You will have more opportunities after doing Diploma in mechanical engineering and you will get direct admission in the 2nd year of B.Tech, you may also get admission in a government college.
