    Why not? If you are going to opt Economics as your subject for the examination then it is good to opt for.

    It may help if you want to chose Economics as one of the optional paper in the main exam. However, you need to prepare on overall syllabus such as English, one of the language, general studies such as general knowledge, current world affairs, political science, general science etc.
