    Dear Sandeep,
For a finance student, learning the financial modelling is a must. Not just for the investment banking professionals but also useful for Financial Analyst, Finance managers, portfolio managers, equity (or derivatives) analyst to make the finance model for further decision making. It is advisable to learn the finance modelling in the very 1st semester of your PGDM. It helps you to secure better summer internship offers. To learn financial modelling, what you all just need to be is good in statistics (Maths), spreadsheets, quantitative analysis at major level. Hope this helps.
