Hello, Yes, it will be helpful for you. It will clear all your concepts and you do not have to dedicate lot of time for preparation. But, don't let GATE preparation affect your B.Tech preparation. Best of luck.

If you start early, then it will be beneficial for you. You won't be under any pressure. You can analyse your strengths and weaknesses.

Yes, it is beneficial because GATE exams consists of questions from 2nd year and 3rd year. So, if you prepare from 2nd year itself, then you can get good score and this can help in getting a good government job or decent colleges for M.Tech.

Yes, you should prepare for GATE exam from second year. But, you should focus more on your B.Tech during second year.
