There is no embargo on girls joining marine engineering. Marine engineering has a good scope in both Indian and international shipping companies. You are advised to appear for entrance examination conducted by Indian Maritime University to join marine engineering degree course. You can also join marine engineering after B.Tech mechanical engineering by undergoing a 1-year course.
