Yes, candidates must appear for HPU MAT. If the candidate is seeking admission to MBA programme of Himachal Pradesh University Business School, he/she must compulsorily appear for HPU MAT. Admission to HPU Business School will not be granted based on other MBA entrance examination scores. Only candidates who appear for the HPU MAT will be shortlisted for the group discussion and personal interview rounds based on the score obtained.
HPU MAT 2026 exam is expected to be held in second week of June 2026. HPU MAT is conducted across 8 exam cities in Himachal Pradesh. The exam is held in CBT mode.

Stage 3- Shortlisting of candidates on basis of score in HPU MAT
Stage 4- Appear for Group Discussion/Personal Interview

Himachal Pradesh University conductes HPU MAT selection rounds in offline mode. Shortlisted candidates from subsidised and non-subsidised categories have to appear for the selection rounds at given date and time. Candidates must report at the alloted centre to appear for GD and personal interview. Candidates failing to appear for the selection rounds will be disqualified.
