Is it compulsory to attempt both the papers of JEE?

No, there is no such criteria that student has to attend both the exams as it totally depends on the student as what all exams he/she wants to give. Also, if you want to get admission in B.Tech/BE, then you can choose paper 1 only, but if you are interested in B.Arch along with B.Tech, then you can
