Is it compulsory to attempt the biology section of IISER entrance exam?

No, it's not compulsory. There is no best of 3 but your cumulative score is considered and there are several people who achieve a good score with PCM, however, it's preferred if you attempt to bio improve your score to improve your chance of getting your preferred IISER. -
IISER Entrance Exam, 2018 pattern is such that the question paper will contain a total of 60 multiple choice questions that candidates need to complete in a duration of 180 minutes (3 hours).
