Is it compulsory to do PhD in the subject in which we do our Masters?

    Yes, definitely, some of my friends who have completed their undergraduate with other subjects like Physics mathematics and then postgraduate in biotechnology and now some of them are pursuing Ph.D. in biotechnology and some are in Nanotechnology and Chemical Engineering department. So, yes, subject will not create any hindrance if you are passionate enough to pursue Ph.D.
