The admissions at GIBS are carried out strictly on merit basis through a Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. For general and reserved categories, the University conducts central counselling for all the colleges affiliated with it for 90% seats except for management quota seats. So you can not get admission without CET in MBA courses.

For mental well-being, I think the best thing GIBS does is not push panic into students. They don't make placements feel like a do-or-die situation. Instead, they motivate, guide, and personally follow up with us. If someone is stressed or confused, mentors actually sit and talk through it instead of just saying “prepare more.”

Plus, there are always activities happening on campus—sports, fitness sessions, IRE brainstorming meets, masterclasses, competitions, talks, etc. So the atmosphere never becomes dull or anxious. The vibe stays energetic and positive, which honestly matters a lot during placement season.

Honestly, GIBS is pretty good for introverts or non-marketing students because they don't force you to suddenly become outgoing. Through CPM and IRE activities, mock interviews, small presentations, and group tasks, you slowly build confidence without feeling judged. Plus, placements aren't just for marketing — there are HR, finance, analytics, operations, and research roles where quiet and detail-oriented students do really well. The mentors also guide you based on your strengths, so you learn how to present yourself better in interviews. By the time companies come, you're actually ready even if you started off shy.

From my experience, it's honestly a lot more than I expected. The CPM/finishing school itself runs almost like a separate layer on top of PGDM — regular skill-building sessions, aptitude training, communication practice, mock GDs, mock interviews, resume work, plus recruiter-specific prep. If you count it roughly, by 2nd year we easily cross a few hundred hours of structured training without even realizing it because it's spread across weeks and semesters. And apart from the official sessions, we have IRE workshops, bootcamps, events, and mentor reviews that also add up to placement prep indirectly. It's not like “two months crash

I feel clubs and committees at GIBS genuinely add value to our profile. We don't just join for certificates. We actually learn teamwork, planning, communication, and leadership by doing real activities on campus. Recruiters love seeing that kind of exposure because it shows that we can handle responsibilities beyond academics.

Also, being in committees like placement, cultural, IRE, or marketing helps us interact with corporates, organize events, coordinate with faculty, and work under time pressure. These experiences become super useful in interviews because we have actual examples to talk about. It also helps with confidence and makes
