No, it is not compulsory to have to study mathematics as a subject in 12th to take admissions in B.com

    Below is the qualifying eligibility

B.Com hons is a niche course, many universities offer this course but very few top ones like LPU offer it with the right curriculum and technology training.
The eligibility at LPU is 60% with English in 10+2. there are few exemptions for some categories too. So mathematics is not compulsory.
LPU also curates B.Com (Management Accounting and International Finance) which is in tie-up with US based IMA whose degree is acceptable across the globe. This unique program offers various pathways for government, and corporate jobs, open minors for your subjects which you are passionate for and even credit transfer facility.

Dear student, it is not compulsory to have Mathematics as a subject in 12th to take admission in B.Com (Hons.) at Lovely Professional University (LPU). The eligibility criteria for B.Com (Hons.) at LPU typically require a pass in 10+2 with a minimum aggregate percentage, regardless of whether Mathematics was a subject. Therefore, students from various streams, including those without Mathematics, can apply for the B.Com (Hons.) program.

For admission to B.Com (Hons.) at Lovely Professional University (LPU), mathematics is not a compulsory subject in Class 12. The core eligibility criteria are. 60% aggregate marks in 10+2, with English as a required subject. There is no mandate for Mathematics; students from a non?maths Commerce background (or even Arts) can apply as long as they meet the percentage and English requirement .

It is not necessary to include mathematics in the 12th standard to gain eligibility for admission to Lovely Professional University (LPU). Admission to B.Com (Hons.) at LPU requires the candidate to have completed his/her 10+2 education with 60% aggregate marks and English as one of the subjects; however, mathematics is not denoted as an additional compulsory subject. Therefore, a student not studying mathematics in 12th standard will still be eligible to apply for an admission to B.Com (Hons.) at LPU as far as they meet the other eligibility requirements.

    Hi there,

No, mathematics is not compulsory for admission to the B.Com (Hons.) program at Lovely Professional University (LPU). Students from any stream in 12th grade (Commerce, Science, or Arts) can apply, provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria. LPU generally requires candidates to have a minimum percentage in 12th (as per university guidelines) from a recognized board.

However, having mathematics in 12th can be beneficial, especially if you plan to pursue areas like finance, accounting, or business analytics, as some subjects in the course involve quantitative techniques, financial management, and statistics.

Absolutely! Having a humanities background is no barrier to pursuing Fine Arts at Chandigarh University.

The programme welcomes students from all streams, including humanities, as long as they meet the minimum requirement of 50% marks in their 12th exams. Many humanities students find the programme a natural extension of their academic interests, as the curriculum often connects with cultural, historical, and social themes. For example, a student who studied history might bring unique perspectives into courses like painting or applied arts.

The university values creativity and passion over specific subjects studied in school.
