As one of the core MBA entry requirements, most MBA programs usually require you to have a minimum of two years experience. The average MBA student has between three and five years.
But being within or outside of that range does not guarantee an MBA applications success or failure.
Clearly, work experience is important in your MBA application. But it's not the sole predictor of success.
If your application stands out in other ways exceptional GPA, a strong GMAT score, self-taught data analysis skills, for example that may be enough to counterbalance a lack of professional work experience.

No, it is not compulsory to have some work experience to pursue MBA. Any person having graduate degree or pursuing UG course are eligible to get admission. Institutes accept CAT, MAT, CMAT, UPSEE score for MBA admission.

Hi,
It depends on what type of MBA you are planning to opt for. If you plan to do a 2-year full-time MBA/ MMS/ PGDM then work experience is not compulsory but it is preferable as it gives you an edge over others. If you plan to do a part-time or executive MBA then itis compulsory to have the prescribed years of experience.
All the best.
