Is it compulsory to take GATE exam to get a central government job?

GATE is only required for engineering related jobs. There are many jobs in different departments in government PSUs. -

7 years agoNot all the central government jobs recruit through GATE but most PSUs in the technical fields like BEL, BHEL, NTPC, CONCOR, SAIL recruits through GATE score. For banking, finance and Insurance related jobs, there are other exams.
