Is it difficult for a 12th student with a commerce background to pursue an IPM programme at IIM?

Not at all. B.Com students have more comfort over the other stream students, who admitted in IIMs and other B-Schools.

While mathematics is a part of the IPMAT syllabus, it is not the only subject that is tested in the exam. So, it is possible for a student without a strong background in mathematics to clear IPMAT. However, it is important to note that mathematics is a significant part of the exam and having a good grasp of the subject can improve the chances of scoring well in the exam. It is advisable for you to understand the exam pattern and syllabus thoroughly and prepare accordingly, focusing on their strengths while working on their weaknesses. They can also seek guidance from mentors, join coaching classes or online courses to improve their skills in mathematics and other subjects tested in IPMAT. Lastly, once you get admission in any of the IIMs, core Math will not be a part of any of the syllabus.</p>
