<p>Gaining access to NEHU Tura can be tough but not impossible. For one, there are about 5,000 to 6,000 applications on average every year, although only 1,500 seats are available, hence the selection is purely merit-based. In the case of undergraduate courses, the qualifying criterion is 50% in 10+2 for the general candidates (and 45% for SC/ST). The cut-offs are usually within the range of 60-80% or so. In Post Graduate programs, 55% at least in graduation is necessary (50% for SC/ST) and scores of entrance tests will weigh 70% of the total. Popular courses such as B.A.(Honors) have about 120, while M.A. (English) has only 20. However, It is advisable to maintain 75%+ academic records and prepare for the entrance tests such as CUET. Other practical ways of Increasing chances include adhering to the application deadlines which will be for PG courses within the months of July and August and May and June for UG courses.</p>
