Admission to RGUKT, commonly known as IIIT Basara, is solely based on the GPA of class 10. Some of the top priorities considered are merit, assured seats for which usually students get above 9.8 GPA, and reservations: 85% of seats for local students of Telangana and 15% of seats open for any other state students. It also gives weightage to the socio-economic background and the government schools' students.
