Is it good or not to pursue MBA after B.Tech?

That's an interesting career change! YES you can do MBA after B.Tech. Most of the universities and colleges offer MBA in many of its subtypes and specializations. Provided that you clear the minimum eligibility criteria and selection process. In most of the top institutions like Iims etc. The minimum eligibility for graduation is 50% aggregate while some top players like LPU have fixed it at 55% in any stream of graduation. But the marks in graduation are not the only criteria, most of the institutions also take entrance tests or group discussions or interviews or all of them. Some top entrance examinations are: CAT MAT XAT SNAP IBSAT and LPU NEST. So, it is perfectly okay to do MBA after B Tech provided you are eligible as per marks and also comply with the other selection criteria if any. Very important point that comes to my mind is : You must first check your interests, attitude, passion and aspiration before taking a plunge, your aptitude will be checked by the university itself with the examination or interview. It is advisable to pursue the MBA only from top institutions, as only they provide the right launchpad for your career. There are some very good business schools which offer such programs like Iims, IITs, FMS Delhi, SPJMER, Great lakes Chennai, LBSIM, JIMS, UBS Chandigarh, SIBM, SCMHRD, IBS Hyderabad, LPU Punjab etc. Hope this helps. Hello! With MBA you get education on business administration and leadership topics. During B.Tech, the main focus is on the engineering subjects and some light on operations management etc. Are covered. For you to be successful in career, it's important to have foundation knowledge on both technical and management topics. So, its logical to do MBA after B.Tech. Now, people have misunderstanding that they would get manager role after MBA which is not going to happen. You will need to demonstrate your potential to become a manager and then only you will get an entry level manager role. Those who aspire for leadership role in their career definitely need to consider doing the MBA. Institutions offer executive MBA programme for working professional so that you may not have to sacrifice your working experience in lieu of getting MBA credential. Hi Venkatesh, Yes, MBA right after B.Tech is a very good career option because diversity of subjects taught at an undergraduate level is quite narrow compared to an MBA Degree. Many students opt for an MBA because they feel it is the right path for a lucrative career; its the only logical option for them as it allows them to climb the organizational ladder faster. Benefits of MBA after B.Tech - Technology plays an important role in businesses, so students with the knowledge of technology and business and finance get the privilege in the business world. Their technical skills can be used by multinational companies as well. Technical skills are always in trend and without management, no company can run well. Technical and management skills are the core strength of any company. For this reason, a person with these two skills is the best choice that a company could make. Most of the big companies in the IT sector hires graduates from decent colleges having both the B.Tech. And an MBA degree. Big brands are attracted by these people having two degrees of management and technology.
