Is it good to make 5 years of gap for getting a government job than an immediate software job?

5 years of gap is huge, I won't advise you to give more than two years for any government job as if you work hard with strong dedication, you will be able to clear maximum government examinations. After a gap of five years, it will also be really difficult for you to get a job in private sector.
