Yes animation can be a very rewarding career provided you have a creative bend of mind and should be flexible with learning new tools every other day. There are lots of Job opportunities in the same as the industry is booming in our country. May I know are u looking for a professional course like B.Tech or Arts course like BA so that I can lead u specifically? -
Yes it is a good career option but it will be also great if you look of other avenues in Media and Entertainment like Gaming, VFX, Graphic and Web etc

There are more than 300 animation studios in India as of 2015, which are estimated to have employed more than 15,000 animation professionals. As per the FICCI KPMG 2015 report, the year 2014 saw the value of VFX grow the highest at 22%, followed by post-production at 15%, animation production at 9% and animation services at 1%.
