Software Engineering is definitely a good course to pursue with immense opportunities in India and abroad. With the current digital revolution India is going through, the opportunity gets even bigger.
However, it also depends on how you pursue the course. Do not just stick to the theoretical section just for some better marks on your mark sheet, rather understand the practical implementation of those theories. Remember, the marks on your mark sheet will only allow you to appear for various placement interviews, whether you're able to get through them depends on your practical skills.
