Is it good to pursue hotel management for good career prospects?

It depends upon your own interest. The best department in hotel management career is production, you can grow faster and in no time your pay will increase rapidly as well as your position, other than that, you can get a good pay in housekeeping department and front office but it’s very difficult to survive in service department and to grow higher.
