Is it good to pursue MBA after B.Tech with CSE? What is the career scope and placement scenario?

Lets SEE both the programs, CSE itself has a very good scope, the technical skills imparted in the programme are today some of the most sought after in the industry. MBA: Management is now an evergreen career provided you have right aptitude, interest and aspirations! If you are more into decision making, problem solving, team management and building, concept thinking and designing, then definitely go for MBA after B.Tech. "The management skills coupled with technical capabilities make a wonderful combo" Most of the universities and colleges offer MBA in many of its subtypes and specializations. Provided that you clear the minimum eligibility criteria and selection process. In most of the top institutions like Iims etc. The minimum eligibility for graduation is 50% aggregate while some top players like LPU have fixed it at 55% in any stream of graduation. But the marks in graduation are not the only criteria, most of the institutions also take entrance tests or group discussions or interviews or all of them. Some top entrance examinations are: CAT MAT XAT SNAP IBSAT and LPU NEST. So, it is perfectly okay to do MBA after B Tech provided you are eligible as per marks and also comply with the other selection criteria if any. Very important point that comes to my mind is : You must first check your interests, attitude, passion and aspiration before taking a plunge, your aptitude will be checked by the university itself with the examination or interview. It is advisable to pursue the MBA only from top institutions, as only they provide the right launchpad for your career. There are some very good business schools which offer such programs like Iims, IITs, FMS Delhi, SPJMER, Great lakes Chennai, LBSIM, JIMS, UBS Chandigarh, SIBM, SCMHRD, IBS Hyderabad, LPU Punjab etc. Hope this helps.

Hi Bunty, Now you have two options. Choice is yours, whether you want to proceed further with M.Tech or you want to engulf with some amazing managerial skills by pursuing MBA. Check your interest and aptitude and proceed accordingly. Don't worry about scope, let me clear you one thing, you are already on a right track. Since you are Computer Science Engineer, you can easily get a job with this much of qualifications only but with an MBA your career is going to boost. Yes, it is a good idea to pursue MBA after completing B.Tech. You can opt for any stream of your interest. Yes, you have good changes of placements, if you pursue MBA from top B-school.

It all depends on your aptitude and interest. You should not go for what others did or are doing. Follow your passion after completing B.Tech. Join in a firm and get some experience only then you can decide whether MBA or M.Tech is better.

MBA is an amazing option to have after completing your B.Tech degree. It isn't just an option for several students as theyve already decided to go for an MBA for their career. It is a very diverse field because it offers courses in many niche areas too, e. g. if you go for Sports and Luxury, you can always choose MBA ESG. MBA students are given a lot of practical training or field training with companies that hire them. Companies spend a lot of time and enormous money on training these employees. Most undergraduate courses don't provide B.Tech students with proper field training or hands-on experience. Many pursue an MBA degree to get to high managerial posts in organizations, but some don't. They pursue an MBA to become entrepreneurs and start their ventures. MBA training includes business management, planning, marketing, financial management, and many other skills that entrepreneurs need, making it a highly desirable degree to pursue after B.Tech. I would advise you to choose best University on the basis of University ranking, placements, infrastructure, faculty members etc. There are some very Universities which offer such programs like Iims, IITs, FMS Delhi, SPJMER, Great lakes Chennai, LBSIM, JIMS, UBS Chandigarh, SIBM, SCMHRD, IBS Hyderabad, Geeta University, Panipat etc.
