    In India Managers are payed more in comparison to Technical resources. This has lead to trend in India that most of good engineers go for MBA and then become a generalist. After few years of technical experience one gets promoted as Technical Manager and role entail more of resources management and less of technologist. Such trend does not exist in Western developed countries where technologies are paid more in comparison to generalists. With growth of IT industry technologists have started getting better pay and status in comparison to generalist. Slowly other industries have started copying this phenomena .
