Is it good to study at a non-SPP college of Canada? Will I be facing any problems if I do the same?

I don't think, you will face any problem, if you study in a good non SPP college. The admissions will be competitive though. Apart from this, you can be rest assured about good education and job prospects. -
According to me, if your band score is good then you are eligible under SPP. Most of the students apply under SPP, you should also do the same.
