Hello there, Well, being an educational consultant, I can give you my opinion based on the feedback received from students who are known to me and are currently studying Mechanical Engineering at LPU. Besides, few colleagues of mine who have previously worked in the same Deptt. So, the following are the highlights of Mechanical engineering in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their the highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of the B.Tech programme in LPU in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship programme that could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to manufacturing and production units, Thermal power plants, hydroelectric projects, and other segments of the industry from time to time. You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, Mental ability, and Analytical Aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. They have very good placement records and good core companies visit their campus, Voltas, Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki Ltd, Honda, Nissan Motors Ltd to name a few. 7. Career-oriented Software training in project labs is given. To work in this profession, you are supposed to be familiar with software like SolidWorks, Catia, Prove, FEA software like Ansys, etc. Nonetheless, you will be trained in Auto CAD in your second year which is prerequisite for any engineering graduate. 8. Every theory course is complemented with relevant lab-based practical work. Some of the labs in Mechanical engineering school are SOM Lab, Fluid Mechanics Lab, Thermal engineering Lab, Heat Transfer & IC Engine Lab, etc. For more details, please refer to the LPU website. Yes, Mechanical Engineering is very good when LPU is considered. Mechanical Engineering here is surrounded by all kinds of all the experimental learning which is a must for this programme. Also, the curriculum of LPU in the case of Mechanical Engineering is very impressive. A proper note is taken so that students have a very strong basic knowledge of their course. Also, when you talk about LPU, innovative learning is theirs one of the most important priorities. Similar is the with B.Tech in Mech. Engineering as well. Almost every year, the Mech. Engineering department at LPU shines in various fest, challenges, etc. Held in the campus as well as across the country. Talking about the placements, it is also exceptionally good here. You will definitely land with a very good job offer if you are sincere and work hard on your academics and skills. If you develop some coding skills too during your course, that would really boost your presence but if you are unable, there won't be any problem because there are many core companies visiting the campus as well. Some of those companies include- Indo Farm, Honda, Voltas, Tech Mahindra, Hyundai, etc.

Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials Science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. As far as Mechanical engineering is concerned, I can tell you this course carries extra baggage and it is very fruitful if you choose LPU as a medium. LPU alumni are working in top MNCs across the globe like Voltas International, Honda Two Wheelers, Asahi India Glass Ltd. , Indo Farm Tractors Ltd. etc. LPU Students have been offered International locations like Dubai and Oman by Voltas. PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester covering: Analytical Skills (Logic Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning) Quantitative Aptitude Skills Technical Aptitude Skills Presentations and Soft Skills Mock Exercises (Mock Interviews, GDs, Mock Tests, etc. ).
