    Pursuing a PhD in finance can be very difficult due to it's rigorous academic requirements and competitive nature of the field. For this course, a solid understanding of econometrics, quantitative methods and complicated financial theories is essentially required. Admission to top colleges are highly competitive which often require a strong academic records, high scores in standardized tests like the GRE or GMAT and relevant research experience.
