Is it important for north Indian students to learn Kannada if they're moving to Bangalore for studies?

No, it is not important to learn Kannada when you are moving from North India to Bangalore. Because both the states are a part of India. Also, in both the states Hindi and English are common Languages. You can Communicate in these two languages. If you want to learn, definitely learn it will be easy
