Is it important that a student taking CSE should be very good at coding or having knowledge about coding and its usage is sufficient?
I got 85/100 marks in 12th CBSE board exam although I was average at codes.

If you have knowledge that's well and good but even if you are not an expert that's totally fine, you can develop your skills through your graduation through various short term courses
